Latest Release: Version 2.1 Build 1513

Have you been stymied when it comes to statistically evaluating the quality of your transcription department? Do you lack trending reports to show the progress your department has made? Can you identify specifically the strengths and weaknesses of your documentation so you can offer methods for improvement? Are you tired of toggling between spread sheets and document compare tools to manually generate reports? QA Navigator is a unique quality assessment program available to help you with all these needs! This product provides an electronic tool for use by transcription QA editors or teachers in evaluating transcripts. QA Navigator is the most comprehensive tool available for this purpose.

Quality within the medical documentation process has generated new interest due to patient safety and document integrity concerns, as well as regulatory pressures. Quality benchmarking within medical transcription has been nonexistent due to lack of practical methods of measurement. QA Navigator meets these needs, particularly since it is coupled with the AHDI quality standards.

The product is utilized with electronic documents (.doc, .rtf). A primary use is for the review of transcription quality. As editors review these documents and identify an error, they are presented with listings of error types and values. There is an opportunity for further comment by the editors, and use of on-line reference materials. (AHDI’s Book of Style is integrated!)

Amazingly, QA Navigator can be utilized for both retrospective reviews and concurrent reviews (before the document has been delivered to the medical record). For concurrent review, in one QA session you are providing a clean copy for the record and a marked up copy for the transcriptionist.

The software tabulates this information to a database, allowing for extensive tracking and reporting for each transcriptionist, and for trending the quality of the reports relative to the dictator, report type, site, specialty, lesson, class. (See our Sample Reports)

Additionally, the QA Navigator product allows for review and benchmarking of the dictator input quality, and for the protocol compliance of the documentation in general. (See our Sample Reports)

QA Navigator continues to evolve based on the needs of our users and the evolution of newer technologies and standards. We invite you to explore this optimal way to implement a continuous quality improvement culture into your documentation environment.
